I have a secret...I started listening to Christmas music two weeks ago. Don't judge me! I don't listen to all kinds of Christmas music. But some artists have such beautiful voices that I wanted to listen to them. I listen to classical music all the time. Because it is beautiful and uplifting.
And if you think about it, some Christmas songs aren't even about Christmas or winter. They are about Jesus Christ. We sing songs in church about Jesus Christ every Sunday. Take 'O Holy Night' for example, it's a gorgeous song about Christ's birth. Nothing about snow or Santa or anything like that. And I think it is one of the most beautiful songs I have ever heard. Who made it a Christmas song that we can only listen to once a year?
So, I don't think I'll say I've started listening to Christmas music. Rather, I'm listening to uplifting music, and beautiful music about my Savior.

movie and dinner

So Steve had yesterday off. In the morning he had a company golf tournament. He had a lot of fun! His team tied for second, and he feels like he played a good game.
After lunch, V.'s grandma and grandpa Hammond picked her up for the rest of the day. They went in to visit her Great-Grandma Hammond, then they took her to the store. Grandma told me later that when they got to the store, she put V. up in the cart and V said,"My Mother doesn't put me in the cart." "Well, "said Grandma," I do." So she said V. was a good girl and they bought her a big pink bouncy ball, then went back to their place where she spent the rest of the time jumping on the tramp, running thru the sprinklers, and playing with her cousin. They also gave her ice cream, which she loved! {I try not to have too many sweets at our house, so she loves going to her grandparents where she can get all sugared up!}
While V. was at her grandparents, Steve and I went to the matinee of Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince. We both really liked it. I was so excited to go! Of course, I didn't like how they changed some scenes, and added others. And I don't know why they changed the end the way they did. There was a lot more action in the book! But overall, I loved it!
Then we walked over to Sportsmans Warehouse so Steve could get some arrow tips. Then we walked over to Johnny Carinos for dinner. Steve's mom happened to give us a gift card for there a while ago. So we ended up only spending $8 total out of pocket for dinner. Not too shabby!
Then we went and picked up V. and on the way home she told me she had been a good girl like I told her to be.:) I put her in the tub and got her to bed. By that time Steve had fallen asleep with his glasses on,{He's not as young as he used to be;)}
It had been a fun day! I loved going out with Steve, just us. Now that V. is a little older, I'm more comfortable leaving her with family, I know she's old enough to tell people what she wants. When she was a baby, I was always worried that if she started crying people wouldn't know what was wrong. I love doing things as a family, but it's nice sometimes to be just a couple again.
Anyway, this post has turned into a novel! I better stop before I think of more to add!

A little catch up

So I finally uploaded some pics of what we've been doing this last month.

Let me first say, My baby is growing up WAY TOO fast! She was being a goofball and posing for this pic, she looks beautiful, but way too grown up! I think this will be the last time I do her hair like this, she just doesn't look like my baby anymore.*sniff*

We went to an air show in Rexburg and V. was so excited! She had a little toy plane she brought with her. It rained a little off and on but luckily we had some friends who had a family hanger and they let us sit with them. Thank you Brad and Karen! I just thought this pic was cute of V. looking over Steve's shoulder.

Whenever a plane would fly overhead V. would lift her arms to the sky and try to reach it. So cute!

This is Steve's brother with a welt that he got from a hot dog. You heard me right! This is what you get when you get Steve and his brothers together on a boys only camping trip and you have too much time on your hands. Who would've thunk a hot dog could be dangerous?

Lastly, you have probably noticed I added a weight lose counter to my blog. I won a free 6 month membership to Gold's Gym. I have also been trying to lose weight for a little while. Now hopefully I can! I've already lost three pounds and I'm hoping by keeping track of my weight lose on here that it will keep me motivated!

New blog!

Alright I did it! I have been thinking alot the last few weeks about starting a new blog that will have my crafts, recipes and such on it. That way this blog can be just a family blog. What do you think? Was it a good idea? I don't know...I don't have much posted on there right now. I need to start taking pictures of the steps I use when I make things, so that it'll be easier for people to then make their own. Most of what I have posted on THIS blog are just pictures of the finished project. So I can't post those on the new blog until I have step-by-step pictures to go along. Does that make sense? Anyway, I'm just rambling on! Check out my new blog and come back every once in awhile as I will try to post some more stuff on there!
