V.'s first field trip

V. had her first field trip in Pre-school yesterday. I do have pictures of her first day of pre-school, but am having a hard time uploading them to the computer.
I went with the class on this field trip. V. was allowed to have two friends from class ride with us. She picked two boys....But I guess at this age it doesn't really matter if she's playing with boys, right?
The class went to a potato field to find potatoes. V. was very excited to go!
Here she is getting ready to fill her empty bag with taters!

Finding potatoes in the ground. Most of the kids were all really good about sharing. V. and another little girl kept giving each other potatoes. It was cute!

V. showing me one of her taters! { her eyes are closed because the sun was in them}. We came home with 3 1/2 bags full of potatoes! I would guess around 40 lbs. And each kid got that much! It was great!

The whole class {minus 1 who didn't show up}. V. sure did have a alot fun!

Steve is victorious!

Last night Steve called me on the cell phone and told me he had shot his deer! "Oh, Good," I say. He tells me it's a white tail buck with antlers." You're joking." " No. I'm serious!", "Get out."
" I'm so not joking! I just shot a 12 point buck!"
He was so excited! He could barely talk on the phone!

Steve telling the story of shooting it, and how fast his heart was beating with excitement.

Steve hunts with a bow. He said he shot it right thru the heart and lungs. A perfect shot!

This is his first buck ever!

He's still on cloud nine! He is so happy! And it makes me happy to see him get so excited and happy. So, YAY! He did it, and he did it good! Now he just has to wait for Elk season to start...

V.'s first hair cut

Okay, I know what you're thinking. Isn't V. like, practically 4? Yes, she is. Her first hair cut now? Yes.
But whenever I have mentioned getting her hair cut or trimmed Steve is like,"No! I like her hair long! Don't cut it!" I try to explain to him that a girl needs to trim her hair every so often to keep it healthy and such. I think he was afraid I was actually going to chop her hair off!

I finally just made the appointment with the girl that has done my hair the last few months. Lacee at 'Sister Snips' I have really liked her and V. has come in with me and knew her as well.

This being her first hair cut, of course I had to document it and I even kept a lock of hair to put in her baby book.

The first snip.

It's hard to tell in this picture but V. is smiling in the mirror. V. was liking being in the chair and had a good time!

She's looking in the mirror concentrating on what Lacee is doing.

Lacee was even kind enough to put V.'s ponytails back in!
It looks SO much healthier and prettier now! No more baby fine hair at the bottom!

If we have another girl someday, I will NOT wait so long before getting it trimmed!

Things that go bump in the night.

So early, early, EARLY, this morning, we heard a thump, coming from our closet. Steve checked it out. We don't know what made the noise. But, to be on the safe side, Steve walked thru the house to make sure everything was okay.
He turned on the light above the stairs and started heading down. When he reached the bottom he went to flip on the basement light. While doing so, he accidentally flipped the overhead stair light off. So the overhead light suddenly went off.
He said it scared him and made him jump!
Now, this may not seem like much to you. But, you must understand that it's hard to scare Steve, he doesn't scare easily. But he loves to scare me by jumping out from around the corner, or whispering my name in the dark when I pass the opened front door.
So it made me laugh to know that he got scared.
Even funnier because he scared himself! HAHAHA!
