Halloween!

We had a fun Halloween holiday! It lasted the whole weekend!
We started the week before Halloween carving pumpkins.

This picture is blurry, but you can see our three pumpkins.Steve's is the one with the spider, mine is the small one on the top step and V.'s is the 'scary' one on the second step.

All dressed up to go to the Halloween Carnival that the Snake River Education Foundation put on Halloween weekend. I made some treats for the bake shoppe but didn't get a picture of that. So anyway, on to V.'s fun evening!

 V. got her face painted and tinsel tied in her hair.
She had a fun night playing games, seeing a magician and just having fun! There was also a raffle where I won a massage for me and a round of golf for Steve. There was also a 'guess-how-many-pieces-of-candy-in-the -jar-game where V. won a jar full of candy!
Then on Halloween day at school. They had a Halloween Carnival, I had volunteered and so I was able to get a few pictures of V.
Here she was playing with some goop of some sort.
Eating a donut off a string.
Wrapping up her friend in toilet paper to look like a mummy.
Then Halloween night we met V.'s cousin J. at the square for trunk-or-treating. In most areas that do trunk-or-treating it is a Church thing. Maybe a couple of wards together. Here though it is a community thing. So tons of people, tons of kids and tons of candy!!
 Steve snapped a picture of me handing out candy. {It was so cold and windy that night!}
 The two cute girls having fun! { V. has vampire teeth in her mouth}
And here's our little princess. She was excited to be Snow White this year. She had a couple of other ideas for a few months. But then for about 6-7 weeks she said she wanted to be Snow White and didn't want anything else! Man, she is just growing up fast!

Happy Halloween!

Okay, a quick post on Halloween.
V. was Ariel. She got to dress up 4 times. Once for story-time at the library, once for her pre-school Halloween party, once on Saturday for trunk-n-treat, and again on Sunday for trick-n-treating. I know alot of people don't go out on Sunday. But we didn't see a problem spending the evening as a family walking around doing trick-n-treating. Now, when she gets older and wants to go out with friends on Halloween, if it's a Sunday, we'll say no. Sunday is a time to be together as a family. Anyway, so yeah, we went trick-n-treating on Sunday. We're little devils like that!

V. with her scary jack-o-lantern Steve helped her with!

Trunk-n-Treating with V.'s cousin, J. Man,there were so many kids there! I handed out, maybe, 7-8 pounds of candy! But it's nice to see our little community here in Moreland get together like that! V. wanted Steve to go as Eric, her Prince Charming. But dressing as Eric really isn't dressing up. SO we convinced her to let him go as Eric dressed up for Halloween. So, he was in disguise, in disguise!

Aren't we a good-lookin' couple?

At the Pumpkin Patch!

It's that time of year to decorate with pumpkins! We took a drive to find a pumpkin patch and the best pumpkins in the world!

The pumpkin patch at Grove City Gardens~

V. ran around the whole field looking for the perfect pumpkin!

Here I guess she was riding a pumpkin? Not sure...

We took V.'s cousin with us. They both had alot of fun!

She's saying here that it's too heavy!

I filled our flower pots with the pumpkins we bought and squash from our garden. I LOVE Fall!

One of my favorite times of the year!

Here are a few things I love about this time of year~
Halloween! I love handing candy out to all the cute trick-or-treaters! I love seeing V. all excited! This year she went as Spiderman. I don't know where that came from....
We were trying to talk her out of it until one day she came home from pre-school all sad. When I asked her why, she said that the boys in her class told her she can't be spiderman because she is a girl. Well, I told her she can be whoever she wants to be, and it doesn't matter what anyone else says.
But I have to say, I've never seen a spiderman with such beautiful eyes!

We picked up V.'s cousin to go trunk-or-treating with us. She was dressed as a ghost. She was in a good mood and all cute until she saw Steve. He scared her! She didn't know it was her uncle!

Another thing I love about Fall is the trees changing colors! So beautiful! And I love watching them fall to the ground and crunching them beneath my feet. We had a good pile of leaves in our backyard that I raked up and V. loved playing in!

Swimming in the leaves.
She had so much fun! I love hearing her laugh and seeing her so happy!

Another thing I love about Fall is all the fresh vegis we get from our garden. But we also have four apple trees that ripen at different times. From about August thru the end October we have them coming out of our ears! This past week we were able to pick the last of our apples.

We got a big bowlful of apples and made some Apple Crisp later that night!

I LOVE Fall!!!

Little Brown Paper Bag Halloween memory book

Okay, I swear I'm almost done posting about crafts! Almost. I've just been on a creative high the last couple of weeks! But I'm almost burned out. I promise!
This is a memory book made out of brown paper lunch bags. I folded them in half so the tops and bottoms of the bags are now the sides of the book. With the fold being the 'spine' of the book. Right now there is only 12 pages. I thought I could put a picture of V. from each year on a page. It'll last 'til she's 12. (Unless I add more pages!)

This is the front. I'm not the fanciest scrapbooker.

You open it up and you see the cutest little girl ever! (Please excuse my thumb in the picture. I'm covering V.'s name to protect her online identity)

Where the top(opening) of the bag is I added some pull outs with pictures on them.

Empty pages for future Halloweens!

The side of the book here is the bottom of the bag. I can fold them two different ways. The way it's folded here I have a flap I can lift up to see a (future) picture underneath.

There you go! I also have a christmas one I'll post pics of soon. Hope I don't bore you people with all the pics of my projects! Thanks for looking!

Halloween Fun

Last night my parents had every one over for soup and pumpkin decorating. Every year they grow their own pumpkins, and then they let the grandkids each pick one that they then get to decorate with magic markers. V. loved it last night! She had fun playing with her cousins and couldn't stop with just one pumpkin. When she reached for her third pumpkin to decorate I knew it was time to go! Lukily, there were plenty of pumpkins! My camera is broken, so I don't have any pictures to post. But it was alot of fun, I only wish Steve could have been there...

Speaking of which, Steve is doing fine and really likes the area back there and says he can't wait for us to come out for a visit. Just up the road from where he attends church, he said is an area with homes that are like, $15 million dollar homes! He's going to take us to see those, plus a bunch of other sights. We have our plane tickets already and are so excited to see him! We got a webcam hooked up so we can see AND talk to him. It's great! Why haven't we hooked up a webcam before now? Steve's sisters are now hooked up and we can all chat with each other for free! No more long distance, or using cell phone minutes, plus we get to see each other! Again, why aren't more people hooked up to their webcams?
